Pocket Snails *closed*

I had the chance to review the Pocket Snails Potty training dvd. Unfortunately my little one isn't quite at the age yet, so I had a friend give it a try on her daughter. Here's what she had to say...

In my house, task of potty training is quickly approaching. I have been wondering how to even bring it up to my little girl. Luckily, I got the chance to take a look at a video tackling this topic and it’s geared toward children ages two and up. It’s from the “Pocket Snails” series of videos and this one’s called “Potty Adventure”.

Pocket Snails videos feature three lovable snail friends who dance and sing their way through the learning process. These videos have been created for the pre-school child and a use a variety of learning techniques that serve to engage active little minds. Some of the tools they use include repetition, bold colors and upbeat music. The songs are very catchy!

I really enjoyed this video and it definitely made using the potty look like quite the adventure. One slight drawback might be that some of the language and “conversation” is a little advanced for the new two year old. In that respect, the video might be more suited for the two-and-a-half year old. My daughter didn’t quite follow all of it and lost interest a couple of times. She did, however, really enjoy the music!

It’s a wonderful concept and I love the idea of popping a DVD into the player for my child…especially since my child LOVES to watch videos! The DVD also comes with a fantastic “potty map” that helps you and your child outline the steps it takes to use the potty, including hand-washing at the end! I loved the emphasis on proper hygiene!

Overall, an adorable video and a great visual way to get your child interested in beginning that journey to being diaper free!
